SÜDKABEL
Sudkabel has been manufacturing cables in Mannheim since 1898.
The present-day Südkabel GmbH has changed its name several times over the past 100 years. What's never changed, though, is the firm's commitment to quality and innovation: yesterday, today and tomorrow.
- The cable factory was founded in Mannheim, Germany back in 1898, under the name of Süddeutsche Kabelwerke (Südkabel).
- In 1970, several different companies were amalgamated to form Kabel- und Lackdrahtfabriken GmbH (Kabel+Draht).
- Kabel+Draht was for 18 years owned by Brown, Boveri & Cie. AG (BBC). Following the creation of the ABB Group with the merger between Asea and BBC, the company's name was changed to ABB Kabel und Draht GmbH in 1988.
- Since 1997, the power cable activities were continued under the company name of ABB Energiekabel GmbH.
- On 1 January 2004, the Wilms Group acquired the cable and accessory plant with all its operations in Mannheim from ABB. Since then, the company has once again.

EFEN
EFEN GmbH was founded in 1922 by Otto Frees in Neudorf, which today is known as Martinsthal. The original activities concentrated on the assembly of electrical fuses for the auto¬motive industry. Very soon, the product portfolio was expanded by the production of fuses for all kind of ap¬pli¬cations including current-limiting fuses for low- and medium-voltage power distribu¬tion systems.
- Over the years EFEN introduced numerous pace-making products to the market, meeting customers requests for more compactness in size, higher levels of operation and simple application.
- EFEN was purchased by the WICKMANN-Group in 1985 and gradually took over their activities for Medium Voltages Fuse Links and Fuse Bases.
- In April 1992 a second location, EFEN Uebigau, was established in eastern Germany.
- EFEN Kaposvár Hungária Kft. took over the production of high-voltage fuses for the group and further sales activities for the Hungarian market in 1997. Three years later EFEN Polska Sp. z o.o. (Siemianowice) started sales activities for the polish market. EFEN Dongguan Electrical Products Co., Ltd. was founded in 1999 and produces all products for the domestic Chinese market since 2001.
- By January 2003 EFEN took over the business and production of Peterreins Schalttechnik GmbH Schwabach. By supplementing its product range by low voltage current trans¬formers and switch fuses EFEN strengthen its market position and opened new sales routes into the Middle East and Africa.
- At the start of 2006 the EFEN-group was bought by the Swiss Weber AG a company belonging to the Hager-group.
- Today EFEN employs 135 employees in Germany and 220 worldwide. The production-portfolio comprises of NH Fuse-Links with different characteristics for national and international specifications, NH Fuse-Switches – horizontal design, NH Fuse-Switches and Fuse-Rails – vertical design, Medium Voltage Fuse Links and –Bases, Load Break Switches/ Switch Fuses and Changeover Switches, Low Voltage Current Transformers, Low Voltage Surge Arresters and Telekom Power Supply Products.

DRAKA
Draka Rubber Cable Group develops, produces and markets flexible, rubber-insulated cables to standard or harmonised designs as well as special flexible cables for power and medium-voltage applications.
- Wind turbines, opencast and underground mining, magnetic levitation trains and high-speed trains - a high-tech world requires the latest in flexible cable technology. This is Draka’s domain.
- Draka is one of the leading suppliers of special mining and industrial flexibles. For instance, 30kV trailing cables from Wuppertal secure the power supply to heavy plant, such as excavators and stackers in opencast lignite mines. Steel-wire-armoured coal cutter cables manufactured by Draka also make a vital contribution to electrification and mechanisation in German underground mining. And special rubber cables from Draka are in use in the automation and robotics industry and the process industry, in container terminals and for seaport and industrial cranes and on offshore platforms and construction sites worldwide. Our cables are also used on transit systems, railroad networks and rail vehicles for monitoring, signalling and power transmission.
- In the renewable energy field, Draka is development partner and supplier to the leading manufacturers of wind turbines. Electrical wholesalers and original equipment manufacturers appreciate Draka’s reliable quality, on-time delivery and efficient logistics, too.
- The comprehensive know-how gained from many years’ experience enables Draka engineers - always appreciative of technical requirements and open to customers’ ideas - to come up with ingenious new solutions to problems time and again.
